For months and months, I've heard my partner (who is very much vegan) talk about this weird craving he had for tuna. While this is a totally normal occurence when one has changed their diet and lifestyle from foods they've eaten their entire lives, there are several ways to deal with it. One is to just ignore until it leaves which is does eventually, or make a substitute using whole foods like my chickpea tuno salad. The last is to discover products from compassionate business like Sophie's Kitchen who make alternatives that are cruelty free and vegan.

Welcome to Part three of the Going Plant-Based series! Today I am going to share with you some of my tips and tricks of how I veganize just about any recipe. I truly believe that pretty much any dish can be made in a healthy vegan version. It's pretty much the point of this blog after all. Going plant-based is made even easier when you trun those pesky cravings for old favorites into something that you can indulge without any guilt. So let's get started.

As I am on day 9 of a jucie fast, I figured this week's Lifestyle post was pretty much writing itself. I've done quite a few juice fasts, alhtough I prefer to call them feasts because really I am giving my body all the micro nutrients it needs to heal and detox. Gah it's been too long! I was going quite insane with my grant applications and other things involving the personal chef launch things that I just completely forgot to blog. Bad blogger! I also had to bring in my laptop (AGAIN) to get fixed for what I sincerely hope is the last time. So now I can really focus on getting back in the at-least-twice-a-week blogging habit. As we enter our next week of moving, I am ridiculously thankful that we signed a 24 month lease on our hew house. Don't ge me wrong, I love change and travel and all those lovely things but the moving aspect I am a little over. I am really excited to really discover Vancouver and all it has to offer over what I consider to be a long term stay.
